Oct 26, 2015 | good, good

Wellppp another transfer has come and gone and I´m excited to be in Valparaíso another transfer, we have a lot of good things lined up for these next six weeks. ELDER ALARCON STAYED TOO I´M SO STOKED. Nelma´s youngest son Julio (9) lives with her and he´s been taught all the lessons at least 2 or 3 times, he goes to church every week and reads the Book of Mormon every night with his mom. We were confused why he said he didn´t want to get baptized! But he came to us this last week when Karol was getting ready to get baptized and said he wants to get baptized on the first of this month. Ana Paula pulled us aside yesterday after church and thanked us almost in tears for everything we´re doing for her and her family, how happy she was to see her daughters be so excited about church and doing the right thing. It´s only a matter of time before she decides to get baptized, she knows that we know that she wants to! We´re still fighting that smoking addiction, but she´s coming along!

I´m gonna start this one off with a poem that will help yall love and understand a little more about missionary work, and how perfect our Savior Jesus Christ was as a missionary.

“Father, where shall I work today

And my love flowed warm and free.

Then He pointed me out a tiny spot,

And said, ‘Tend that for me.’

I answered quickly, ‘Oh, no, not that.
Why, no one would ever see,
No matter how well my work was done.
Not that little place for me!’

And the word He spoke, it was not stern,
He answered me tenderly,
‘Ah, little one, search that heart of thine;
Art thou working for them or me’

Nazareth was a little place,
And so was Galilee.'” I love this!!

ANDDD UPDATE:

We met a lot of really amazing people this week! Some of them started out seeming amazing and then got really mean, but a majority are still really awesome! We met this lady named Ana, she´s from Recife. We just started talking to her outside her house, taught her about the Restoration and invited her to be baptized on the 8th, and she was all down for it! We went back a couple days later and she got really mad at us and asked why we wanted to change her life to follow Satan and told us to never come back. So that happens sometimes, but we planted a seed. She was a nice lady! But we met one of her neighbors WHO IS THE CUTEST TOOTHLESS WOMAN I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE. And I don´t know anyone that´s toothless, but she´s just great. Her name is Lurdes, she met with the missionaries about 2 or 3 years ago and really loved going to church, but once they left she lost contact with everybody and stopped going. And that made Lurdes real dang sad! So we started teaching her again, and she´s all geared up and excited for baptism here in a couple of weeks.

We contacted this girl named Luana and she told us we could come back and visit her on Friday. So we went back on Friday and taught her mom while she hid in her room. I thought that was really funny but her mom was on FIRE!!! She gets married in December, and said that if the Church of Jesus Christ was really restored she would dive headfirst into the baptismal font. Sooo in December I hope yall expect an update on Rosilene because she´s pretty boss.

Wednesday we just decided we were gonna do like 800 bajillion streets contacts because we don´t have a very big teaching pool so we went fishing for biggest fish in the river. They get that way because they´ve never been caught, and just waiting for the right fisherman. And yes I´m paraphrasing the movie Big Fish with creative license. ANYWAY we were walking through one of the neighborhoods and everything was really dark and nobody was outside except for one house… Sooo we knocked on the door and we met Robson. Robson is 28 and still lives with his mom BUT that´s beside the point. We got to talking and learned that about 4 years ago, he met with the sister missionaries in Portugal and ALMOST got baptized. The only reason he didn´t is because he moved to Valparaíso and lost contact with the missionaries and the church until that night we knocked on his door. He told us, “I´ve wanted to get baptized for 4 years. You guys are my chance to do that.” I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY.

More miracles! So we met this girl named Jennifer on the bus at the beginning of the week when we were going to lunch. We talked to her for a while about what we do, gave her a pamphlet about the Restoration and thought that that would be it! She didn´t seem SUPER excited about it. But we were walking home from an appointment at about 8:30 and passed a group of girls outside a house doing the typical “Hey white guy teach me about Jesus!!!” deal. So we kept walking, but then three girls ran outside of their house and screamed HEY MORMONS GET YOUR BUTTS BACK HERE I DREAMED ABOUT YOU. Which is like a really weird way to start a conversation. Alarcon asked me “Should we go back?” And I just told him we have two baptism dates back there let´s do it. SO we went, and turns out it was Jennifer, her sister and one of her friends! They said they had just finished talking about us when we walked past their house; and she went on and told us that the night we gave her the pamphlet she read it before bed and had a dream about us and going to the church, and that she wanted to learn more. Her mom came out and questioned us to death and when we left we had put them on date for baptism on the 15th of November. Coincidences don´t happen on the mission, only occurences prepared by the Lord.

Still no pictures because my camera is possessed.

I LOVE YOU ALL. peace be the lucky egg.
