I DON´T NEED EM.
Haha this week was a pretty slowish week, Elder Lima was dying poor guy. We spent all day yesterday in a member´s house after lunch because brotha was doing baddd. I gave him a blessing and he´s doing a lot better now, but he had it rough this week and didn´t want to say anything. He really loves the work and that´s great to have in a companion, we´re doing great together!
We have been visiting Thales´s mom and his sister as of late and ever since they went to his baptism they´ve been wanting to know more! We have them on date for next week, but we´ll have to adjust that here in a little bit. But they´re really liking the visits and we´ll see how they´re doing this week about everything. They have been studying when they´re not at school or at work and it´s been really good. Eduardo got invterviewed by bishop yesterday to receive the Aaronic Priesthood! And he showed up to church all chiquezão in a shirt and tie haha he´s super excited about church now! We´re still working with his mom to get Sundays off so she can come see for herself how it is. Francisca has been doing better, she´s 100 times happier than the first day we met her, and is coping better with Hiago. She worries about him a lot, but the ward has sort of adopted him. Sweet sweet kid. When he tells someone he loves them you can really feel that love in the air, it´s an amazing thing to experience.
Our buddy Gugu (Thales´s cousin) has been helping us out a ton!!! Gugu is 10 and he wants to be a missionary sooo bad. We had a FHE a couple weeks ago and when we got there it was just us, his sister Bia, Eduardo, the ward seminary teacher and her mom. So Gugu left. 5 minutes later he came back with 7 of his friends 🙂 hahaha Gugão is a monster. He´s been visiting everyone with us, great kid.
Miracle of the week! We were going to go visit some less active members and investigators with Grace (another member) a couple of days ago, and since she was at the hopsital doing some exam, we decided to stick around in the area and visit until she got there. She was taking a long time so we decided to go down by the hospital and wait there and visit some people close by. And once we got near the hospital I SAW IEDA!!! Like Ieda from Recanto Ieda that I started teaching with Elder Pereira! Turns out she moved here a little less than a month ago. We´ve been visiting her a ton now, and she´s getting ready to be baptized. Her daughter Yasmin (she´s 6 now) is still adorable. That was a really great surprise, and we´re excited to help her out getting back into the swing of things.
I love you all! Last week for me was 1 Nephi 3:7. I have really put it into practice this week and have seen the blessings of being more obedient. Nephi was an incredible example of that. A huge part of why we´re here is to show Heavenly Father our willingness to obey him while we aren´t in His presence, so that He will be able to trust us in the next life to continue building up His kingdom “until the perfect day”. I pray that we will all be able to understand that and see the blessings of it in our day to day lives.
peace be the journey
With all the love I can give through a handshake,
